Agate & Amethyst Free-form

Unique and beautiful free-form piece that is made from Agate and features an amazing druze. This free-form is approximately 3" tall (from top to bottom) and 7.8 ounces.

Agate is a captivating variety of Chalcedony that comes in a wide array of colors and patterns. These beautiful stones often appear as nodules within cavities of volcanic rocks in which they trap gases of liquid volcanic material.  Silica-rich fluids then fill the cavities and cause deposit layers or walls over time (banding).

Amethyst forms in volcanic rocks, particularly in geodes (cavities in rocks). These geodes are created when gas bubbles or cavities form within the cooling lava. The conditions inside these cavities allow crystals to grow over millions of years.
